Combination Inspections
Every business that uses scales has different needs and requirements. Accredited inspections ensure that tested equipment is accurate to a defined degree of tolerance at the time of testing. In reality, most scales and gauges are subject to misuse, abuse, and environmental conditions that can have an adverse effect on accuracy and performance.
Data Weighing Systems recommends performing one or two accredited inspections per year to satisfy QS9000 requirements and monthly or quarterly validation inspections to ensure that the tested equipment is operating efficiently and accurately. Equipment tested during validation inspections is not adjusted unless errors are found to be over the testing tolerance. If results are over the acceptable tolerance range, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration needs to be performed on the measurement equipment. |
